Ohayo mina-san!
i’m writing this post at 3am… i stayed up late watching code blue (jap dorama)… not that interesting pero pwede na rin… yamapi was kakkoii playing as a doctor… it’s a medical drama, by the way… the cast were too virginal-looking… also, they seemed to be only memorizing the script and not putting feelings in their acting… i’m not a good drama critic but i’m just voicing my opinion… oo nga pala, para namang di ako sanay sa jap doramas — ang mga tao nakatulala, mukhang tanga… maybe i was looking for that house md kind of drama that’s why i wasn’t able to appreciate code blue that much… anyway, i’m not finished with it yet so there’s still time for me to change my opinion about it…
speaking of medical churverts, i had my physical exam at the davao doctor’s hospital last friday… i didn’t like it much… it was the first time that a man has touched my boobs… well, dr. mansukhani examined my chest for some cyst or lymphnodes or something… there were 3 of us, he, me and his female secretary. gosh, wasn’t it fun being watched by someone while somebody else was fondling my breasts?!! it was hell… anyway, i’d have to credit the doctor for his professionalism so i wasn’t ‘that’ harassed… he spoke softly and kindly, there was not a tone of malice… i know, it’s all a routine for him… nothing new… i had to wait from 3-8pm and i finally had my turn at about 8:15pm, i was the last one on queue… poor me… i developed gastric ulcer with all the waiting!
after that, i met with corin and we bought gokusen 2 dvd (go pirates!) at times square… bumili na rin ako ng used clothes/ukay2 since it’s kadayawan sale…
the next day, i had to return to the hospital for my chest xray and urinalysis… my log out time from work was at 8am so i headed straight to the laboratory to give my urine sample… i returned at 1pm to meet the radiologist… when i entered the xray room, i realized that the xray tech was my former high school classmate… u could just imagine the horror on my face when he told me to take off my shirt and bra… manang, it was the most awkward thing in the world… binigyan nya ako ng green gown at tinanggal ko ang dapat na tanggalin. it was a bit open sa likod so super concious ako na kita nya mga taba2 doon while i was posing for my lung pictorial! we had a little chat then i literally ran towards the door after… i wanted to head to the streets and have myself ran over by a route 8 jeep that time!! (or was it route 1? ambot!)…
after i got the results, i met with friends and had beer at the people’s park… it was so masa of us… we were with the whole davao population inside the park… para ngang premiere night ng movie nila kc n richard eh…
napuslit namin sa entrance ang mga beer in can, nakita ng mga inspector pero di pumalag… nasita kami nung nasa na, nang nakita kami ng isang ungas na nag-iinuman sa may mga pine trees… sinungitan namin ung security, kasi ba naman pinagbintangan kamingĀ illegal puslit daw ung dala naming beer? umalis din sya after 5 mins of pa-cute sa amin…
so smile naman agad sina juna and may, after the kaba factor na makulong for drinking inside the park… in fairview to us, wala namang no food or drinks allowed inside na pinost eh… ang ipinagbawal lang ay mga bladed things and bomba…
dakara, i conclude na the last few days were fun… ima, i’m looking forward to sleeping over at ching’s crib on friday on my day off!!! yipee! miss the girl so much….
hisashiburi minna-san!!
it’s been a while since i last posted here…
now, i’m gonna start blabbing about the amazing opening ceremony of the 2008 beijing olympics being held in beijing, china right now… everyone cheers for their bets and everybody’s so excited to know who’ll bag the the most gold medals in the end!
we all know that an olympic event shouldn’t start without a dramatic opening ceremony… this time around in beijing, ‘dramatic’ was not even the word to describe the whole event… it was both earth-shaking and hair-raising! much like the catastrophe that happened in sichuan, china… but of couse, in the most positive side of it…
yes, words were not enough to express how grandiose everything came to be… the 2008 drummers who administered the countdown to the opening were my favorite… well, the torch lighting was also dramatic, to the point that i literally cried a few tears when the cauldron was finally lit… but of course, nothing beats the combined ancient chinese percussions and modern lighting system during the countdown — both in roman numbers and chinese characters… i can’t imagine how 2008 men could actually move in unison to create such fantastic performance…
the costumes… my gawd!! they were to die for… the silk dresses… eveything was (to quote Zohan) silky smooth! … the costume designs really showed how innovative the chinese are… the props used were also larger than life… the scroll and globe were very very very very impressive… everyone and everything are flying, jumping, walking, crawling, dancing, turning, and more!.
i was not surprised though when i knew that the renowned director, zhang yimou, was behind the huge production… for a moment, i thought: "isn’t it amazing to see a live crouching tiger, hidden dragon exhibition in front of millions of earthlings in one gigantic dome?"… honestly, this is my first time to see an olympic opening ceremony (full-length… well, not actually)… i was totally overwhelmed with joy… i may be over-acting but at that point when that former gymnast was skywalking towards the big olympic torch and was finally lighting it, i prayed and thanked God for giving me the chance to witness such spectacle…
for those people who were lucky enough to enter the bird’s nest at that ceremony, it must have been the happiest and most memorable time of their lives… i’m thinking specially of that person to get the last coveted ticket available before they announced they were all sold out the last week of july… i read over the internet that people were literally killing each other just to get hold of one… even i, just to get one, would actually gun down whoever comes my way!!! eheheheh… just joking!! i’d rather ogle on tv, i’d get a better perspective. coz, you know what, even if i did get a ticket, i still couldn’t go coz i couldn’t afford a PLANE ticket!! times like these, a kinton cloud would be useful… wahahahaha…
i am sooo envious with those lucky ones… personally, i believe that getting in would be better than getting married to your first love, better than being crowned as miss universe, or maybe even better than actually setting foot on the moon… i think, seeing people from 204 countries around the globe is like being ONE with the WORLD… it’s like conquering boundaries and uniting as brothers and sisters… no war, simply love and peace! ONE WORLD, ONE DREAM! GO PHILIPPINES!!
now, i compiled a few videos from youtube for you to see… the whole world must have seen them by now… but i think watching once would be such a disgrace… go on, feast on them!
